AUGUSTA, GA – Past the gorgeous horse pastures and well-maintained homes in Mount Vintage stands a golf course that’s been a staple of the Augusta golf community for nearly two decades. And now, the Mount Vintage Homeowners’ Association (HOA) has taken control of its own course with lofty goals for its development.
“Our renovation projects are already underway,” HOA Board Member and Mount Vintage homeowner Gregg Karlberg said. “We are bringing the Mount Vintage Golf Club that everyone remembers back to its Class A status – and perfect for any golf experience level.”
The HOA is leasing the course to Golf Gem MV, an LLC comprised of golf members and Mount Vintage residents. Golf Gem MV has raised over $1.25 million for course renovations, which cover the total landscape of the facility including greens refurbishment, bunker renovations and Clubhouse upgrades.
New leased equipment for better course maintenance has been delivered and the Club is now back on a regular program of chemicals, fertilizers and aeration.
“Players can already see an improvement as soon as your drive up to the course” Robert Meyer, Director of Marketing and Membership for Mount Vintage, said. “It’s obvious there’s a lot of care being poured into this course.”
Stage one of the major improvements will be complete sometime in October, with the rest finishing in time for the 2017 Masters. The club is now semi-private and is accepting new members. It is also taking reservations at a new introductory rate for the public and has special packages to enhance the success of any corporate outing. Reservations may be made by calling (803) 279-5422.
